This one falls into the category of “Got to Have It.” Mind you, I have tried a lot of combinations of herbs, rubs, spices, and other concoctions to dress up a dish without adding a ton of salt or additives, but very few compare to the goodness that comes from the kitchen of the FlavorGod.

Marketed as the home of healthy seasonings, I have to agree. The Flavor God himself, Chris Wallace, began blending his impeccable seasonings in 2012 with a mission to produce chemical-free, filler-free, low-salt offerings while retaining all of the nutritional value of the herbs and spices that he used.

They’re also certified gluten-free and Kosher, and all but one flavor are vegan. Bonus: If you’re an athlete who meal preps regularly with an eye toward macros, FlavorGod creations will add just the kick of flavor to that ordinary chicken breast that you’re craving.

“Shortly after I created these seasonings, I began selling them at local farmers markets,” says Wallace. “My seasonings are crafted with care and shipped to countries all over the world. I’m not a huge corporation. I’m one man with a dream and the support of the best team I could ever ask for. Our dream is to provide creative recipes and healthy seasonings everyone will always enjoy.”

Hallelujah, brother! There are no sacrifices when it comes to flavors. From  Sweet & Tangy to Everything, Ranch, Taco Tuesday, Honey BBQ and Garlic Lovers, the choices are endless. Lemon & Garlic is one of my favorite go-to’s for just about any savory dish.

But wait, it gets better. Wallace has also created sweet dessert flavors including Pumpkin Pie, Gingerbread Cookie and Chocolate Donut. Say what!?!

Enough said. FlavorGod is a hands-down winner in my book. For more information and online orders, go to www.flavorgod.com.

Try this recipe for salmon with a tropical kick:

Fish Ingredients:

  • 2 salmon filets (skin on)
  • 1 tsp. coconut sugar (or brown sugar)
  • ½ tsp. FlavorGod “Everything Spicy” seasoning
  • 1 lemon’s worth of zest
  • Salt & pepper to tasate
  • 1-2 tbsp. oil or ghee

Salsa Ingredients:

  • 1 cup chopped mango
  • 1 cup chopped pineapple
  • ½ cup chopped avocado
  • 1 jalapeno, seeded and finely chopped
  • ¼ cup diced red bell pepper
  • ¼ cup diced red onion
  • 2 limes, juiced
  • 2-3 tbsp. fresh cilantro, chopped

Pat filets dry. Generously sprinkle flesh side with salt, pepper, sugar and FlavorGod Everything Spicy seasoning. Gently pat to adhere spices.

Add oil or ghee to cast-iron skillet. Heat to medium. (Oil should start to smoke.) Place salmon filets flesh side down. Cook 2-3 minutes – just until salmon is slightly blackened and crispy. Turn files over and cook skin down about 5 minutes, until salmon is opaque and flakes easily. Avoid overcooking!
