This one falls into the category of “Got to Have It.” Mind you, I have tried a lot of combinations of herbs, rubs, spices, and other concoctions to dress up a dish without adding a ton of salt or additives, but very few compare to the goodness that comes from the kitchen of the FlavorGod.

Try this recipe for salmon with a tropical kick:
BLACKENED SALMON & MANGO-PINEAPPLE SALSA
- 2 salmon filets (skin on)
- 1 tsp. coconut sugar (or brown sugar)
- ½ tsp. FlavorGod “Everything Spicy” seasoning
- 1 lemon’s worth of zest
- Salt & pepper to tasate
- 1-2 tbsp. oil or ghee
- 1 cup chopped mango
- 1 cup chopped pineapple
- ½ cup chopped avocado
- 1 jalapeno, seeded and finely chopped
- ¼ cup diced red bell pepper
- ¼ cup diced red onion
- 2 limes, juiced
- 2-3 tbsp. fresh cilantro, chopped
Pat filets dry. Generously sprinkle flesh side with salt, pepper, sugar and FlavorGod Everything Spicy seasoning. Gently pat to adhere spices.
Add oil or ghee to cast-iron skillet. Heat to medium. (Oil should start to smoke.) Place salmon filets flesh side down. Cook 2-3 minutes – just until salmon is slightly blackened and crispy. Turn files over and cook skin down about 5 minutes, until salmon is opaque and flakes easily. Avoid overcooking!
